No more has the New Yearβs Day meant to be an occasion when we used to go to Koubrulekha or Kangpokpi for a picnic or attend the Great Two Nights concert at the BOAT or Kangjeibung. Now itβs time to Design, and what better than to do it than get a calendar to start the year, minus the hopeless, ridiculous and shallowest wishes.
βA calendar,β according to the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center, βis a system of organising units of time for the purpose of reckoning time over extended periods.β This is another way of saying humans should get down to whatever they are doing and continue it or the Universe does not give a fuck and that it will keep on spinning and spiraling its way. A calendar is the best solution to the absurdity of life. Somehow, it gives a direction, a sense of purpose to do things according to our priorities.
My culture follows the lunar calendar with the moon slipping its position every year with no time to make up for the loss the earth takes to revolve around a big fucking, burning star. But who cares? Itβs all about priorities. The two designs are based on Gregorian calendar.
And here are a Meitei-Mayek planner and an English calendar to help set your priorities straight.
