In Glorification of Time and Place

INTRO     Early evenings are always delightful out here in Imphal valley—so much so that at least for some moments, amidst the pandemic that has become synonymous with uncertainty and anxiety, you can feel a sense of serenity. I’d like to quickly add that Nature has been quite generous with the valley. You can see hills and mountains in teal blue and hunter green on any three sides from wherever you stand; and around evening time, the sky accentuates the charm of the townscape. Love of beauty is taste, in the words of Emerson, and the creation of beauty art.

OUTRO    The following photographs were taken on a fine June evening. Just so you know, it was just a normal day. You must really check out when the sky and the clouds are flooded with colours and gradients, which occurs when the sun comes out after a brief rain in late afternoons. It also occurs usually, but not confined to, in spring. Imagine just instead of a rainbow, which is already ever fascinating, you will see in those moments the natural colours, in as many shades and variants as you can think of, are scattered across the sky. It is, for the lack of a better word, pulchritudinous

And when the sun was done for the day:

At least the night’s real
In its darkness, its nature
—See! Human actions.
